Libamaba Coffee Limited hosts Yancheng District Committee of Louhe City, CPC

A team of ten Chinese businessmen and investors on Monday, 17th November 2025, visited Libamba Coffee Ltd at their offices located at Ambassador Court, Milimani Road, Nairobi. The team, composed of investors and businessmen from the Yancheng District Committee of Luohe City, CPC of China, was led by the Committee Secretary, Li Zhanbin. Other members of the team included Prof. Dr. Bei-zhong Han of the China Agricultural University Institute of Nutrition and Health, and Yan Fang Shi of the Luohe Investment Promotion Centre, among other dignitaries.
The Chinese visitors were welcomed by Sir Edwin Abonyo, the Executive Director of Libamba Coffee Ltd. Other directors present included Ms. Monica Omondi and Dr. Benson Apuoyo.
After a fruitful business meeting in Libamba Coffee’s boardroom, the team was treated to a coffee cupping session. The visitors sampled various grades of Kenya’s Arabica coffee at the Libamba Coffee Ltd Tasting Laboratory, led by Libamba’s professional coffee cuppers (liquorers).
The visitors were delighted by the quality of Kenyan coffee, noting that they had previously been offered inferior-quality coffee in their country under the pretence that it was Kenyan. They observed that the coffee they had been buying in China was not pure or original, but blended with beans from other origins.
The Executive Director, Sir Edwin Abonyo, informed the buyers that, in addition to sourcing coffee directly from the Nairobi Coffee Exchange, Libamba Coffee Limited also grows its own coffee on a 35-acre farm in Muhoroni, Kisumu County. The farm is situated in the ambient climate of the famous Fort Tenan area, located between the Rift Valley and Lake Victoria. He stated that this is a key advantage of Libamba Coffee for buyers wishing to source coffee directly from farms.
